In the earlier hours of today, a football match between Arema FC and Persebaya Surabaya ended violently, leaving at least 125 dead. I want to use this medium to send my condolences to all of those affected. My heart goes out to those who lost their loved ones. I pray on behalf of the families affected. I also pray those injured, and hospitalized get well soon. Please share this message, and if you have families, and friends in Indonesia, do well to contact them.

Yep. It is real. The last time a football game got this violent was in the 80s and 90s.

They went too far. Football does not support violence of any kind.

That’s tragic, 125 death is a big number, I usually say during such events security should be there and a lot of it to mitigate the risk of such stampede and horrific risks that are a harm to human life

The police was there. They were the ones that caused the stampede by throwing numerous tear gas into the field, making people run for their dear lives.

Police and cops can be useless sometimes, their job it is to avoid and protect danger and people but they seem to lose themselves in the process😪😴

They got mad, or should I say scared because the fans were starting to attack them.
